Tennessee Vols' Tyler Bray, Vanderbilt's Jordan Rodgers in QB spotlight

By David Climer The Tennessean

Forget the stereotypes about California guys. We're not talking Hollywood and surfboards here.

Quarterbacks Tyler Bray and Jordan Rodgers grew up away from the glamour and far from the coast -- Bray in Kingsburg, Rodgers in Chico. Their hometowns -- roughly 300 miles apart -- are much closer to the Sierra Mountains than the Pacific Ocean.

"I kind of laugh when I get questions about growing up in California, because the place I grew up isn't anything like L.A.," Bray said.

A protest Tuesday led to several people being taken into custody.

Protesters were voicing their concerns over a program called 287(g) that the Knox County's Sheriff's Office is considering for inmates here. It's a partnership with federal authorities to check an immigrant's legal status.
