Update: UT Police determine robbery report to be false

After an investigation, UT Police determined a reported attempted robbery early Saturday morning was a false report.

The UT student who reported the robbery later told police the incident did not happen. Officials then charged him with filing a false police report. That is a Class D Felony.

"We take false reports very seriously and we will prosecute when a false
report is filed because it unnecessarily activates emergency resources
and causes undue concern for our campus community," UT Police statement.
