Enter now for your chance to show off your musical know-how and win 2 tickets to see Memphis, a roof-raising rock'n'roll musical, at the Tennessee Theater on December 16th.

For your chance to win, all you need to do is submit a 150 character or less essay on how music has impacted your life.

All entries must be received by December 1st.

Historic Homes of Knoxville Celebrate Statehood Day on May 25 and June 1

 

June 1, 2013 marks the 217th anniversary of Tennessee’s admission as the 16th state in the union. East Tennessee’s most important cultural heritage sites are partnering to celebrate Statehood Day on Saturdays, May 25 and June 1. The sites include places of historical significance in the exciting journey from the creation of our country to the founding of our state. The Historic Homes of Knoxville include: James White’s Fort, Marble Springs, Ramsey House, Mabry-Hazen House, Blount Mansion and Crescent Bend. Each site will have individual ways of celebrating the birth of Tennessee. This is a free museum day to the public.

IceCream Floats a company serving frozen novelty ice cream to the boating community, will return for a second Memorial Day weekend on Fort Loudon Lake/Tennessee River.

Garren and Lyschel Burket, boaters in the East Tennessee area for 9 years, saw a need to provide frozen deliciousness to boaters while hanging out in their floaties. IceCream Floats, LLC offers “ice cream with a mission” as the servers on board will be students and individuals raising money to take mission trips and support nonprofit organizations.
