City of Knoxville: Time to get in the Christmas spirit!

On Monday, they announced the big events planned for this year's Christmas in the City celebration. They include:

  • Regal Celebration of Lights in downtown Knoxville, which includes the lighting a 38-foot tree in Krutch Park on November 29 and rooftop trees
  • WIVK Christmas Parade on December 6
  • Holidays on Ice will give you the chance to ice skate in Market Square from Nov. 29-Jan. 5

Ingredients

Value Sized Chocolate chip cookie dough

1 block cream cheese

1/2 cup Nutella

Candy Corn

Marshmallows

Chocolate Chips

Pecans

Directions

Press the cookie dough into a 10 inch round cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 22 minutes. Cream together the cream cheese and Nutella. Spread Nutella mixture on cooked cookie cake. Layer outer edge with candy corn, then circle in marshmallows, then pecans, then chocolate chips.

June 1, 2013 marks the 217th anniversary of Tennessee’s admission as the 16th state in the union. East Tennessee’s most important cultural heritage sites are partnering to celebrate Statehood Day on Saturdays, May 25 and June 1. The sites include places of historical significance in the exciting journey from the creation of our country to the founding of our state. The Historic Homes of Knoxville include: James White’s Fort, Marble Springs, Ramsey House, Mabry-Hazen House, Blount Mansion and Crescent Bend. Each site will have individual ways of celebrating the birth of Tennessee. This is a free museum day to the public.
