Dogwood Arts Festival parade cancelled for next year

There will be something missing from next year's Dogwood Arts Festival.

Because of a shifting focus for the festival and dwindling support, officials say they will no longer be hosting the annual parade down Gay Street.

Walk your human, pick up litter, and earn rewards

It's a way to get some exercise, keep your walking path tidy, and earn rewards.

"I walk about 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day. I have my pedometer on," Susie Stout said.

She's not just walking. Susie Stout is also picking up litter.

"I did Turkey Creek Greenway one time and I got 34 gallons, that's one of the big black trash bags full," she said.

She's part of a Keep Knoxville Beautiful program called Green Miles.

Cupcakes in the Park: A tasty experience

People enjoyed sweet treats for a good cause today at the Krutch Park extension in Downtown Knoxville.

At Knoxville's first cupcake festival "Cupcakes in the Park," people purchased five dollar tickets to eat cupcakes and vote for the best tasting treat.

All proceeds from this event went towards the "Kent C. Withers Family Crisis Center," which helps support and protect domestic violence victims and their children.

10News Erin Donovan was one of the cupcake judges at the event, along with some of East Tennessee's favorite bakeries.

Daniel and Mandy Watson were featured on Extreme Makeover Home Edition back in January when they received a new home in West Knoxville.
