Crews preparing J.C. Penney building for future residents | News
An old downtown business is getting a facelift for future business. You've probably noticed scaffolding is now up at the old J.C. Penney building on Gay Street in Downtown Knoxville.
Developer David Dewhirst told us crews are getting the building ready and stabilizing it for future tenants.
This is the first major activity at the building since the Downtown Urban Living banner was taken down in May of 2011.
Work on the building began last month.
