Hundreds of students prepare to compete in Destination Imagination | News
Hundreds of students from around the world are getting ready to compete in the global finals for Destination Imagination, which kicks off Wednesday night in Thompson-Boling Arena.
More than 1,200 student teams from 42 states and 14 countries will take part. Over the next few days, the students will tackle problem solving challenges that emphasize science, technology, engineering and math skills. The goal is to have fun and inspire.
"Just to develop their creativity to the max, get them thinking outside the box, so they can solve the world's problems," said Clint Fjelstaed.
The fun kicks off with an Olympic-style opening ceremony.
