1000 foot slip-and-slide coming to Knoxville this weekend

(WBIR) A slip-and-slide that's longer than three football fields is in Knoxville this weekend.

The Slide The City event gives East Tennesseans a unique chance to cool off while going for a 1,000-foot ride.

The Knoxville event will take place Saturday June 20 outside the Civic Auditorium and Coliseum in downtown.

It costs $25 for a single slide or you can three slides for $40.

According to the event's website, sliding typically runs from noon until 5 p.m. It also states anyone older than five years old or taller than 46 inches can participate. Although, children under the age of 18 will need a legal guardian to sign a waiver. Each rider must use an inflatable tube while on the slip-and-slide.
