Tennessee Vols fans who are anxious for a coaching change are trusting Dave Hart to call upon all his experience and insight and make the correct decision.

Hart's fire/hire record with coaches at UT:

* He elevated Holly Warlick to Lady Vols basketball coach when Pat Summitt announced her semi-retirement.

* He hired Brian Pensky to coach the women's soccer team.

The message sent by Tuesday night’s election is not completely clear but one thing is obvious.  The voters did not reward gridlock. The American people want their leaders to get something done. Soon.

UT trustees to vote on raise for UT president

As of Friday, UT's president could be looking at a more than $25,000 pay raise.

The board of trustees is expected to vote on a 3.5 percent raise for Dr. Joe DiPietro. That's on top of an across-the-board base pay increase that was approved on Thursday.

If approved, DiPietro's salary will be just over $445,000 annually.

Senator Lamar Alexander is not only a familiar name in Tennessee politics, but across the country. 

"I feel lucky to be doing what I'm doing."

The Maryville native has certainly come a long way.

"I was a little mischievous."

Alexander got his first library card at age three. A year later, he started taking piano lessons at Maryville College. He practiced every morning before school after his paper deliveries.

East Tennessee Zumba instructors know how to dance.

In fact, their original choreography landed them in the top ten in an international competition where they hope to bring home the top prize.

They call themselves the Hard Knox Crew: Shanie Marshall, Paulette Ray, Jen Celeste, Liz Harding, Kay Houser and Gabbie McConkey.

They are Zumba instructors mostly from East Tennessee.
