LMU law school makes changes as it works toward accreditation

An East Tennessee law school is making changes to work toward accreditation from the American Bar Association.

The Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law lost its bid for accreditation last December. The school has re-applied and plans to drop a lawsuit it filed against the ABA.

The ABA identified three standards which the institution hasn't yet complied with related to changing economic conditions in the legal profession.

An East Tennessee school battling back from accreditation problems is losing its dean.

On Wednesday, LMU announced that Duncan Law School Dean Sydney Beckman has received leave for research for the rest of the academic year. The school says he will remain tenured.

The American Bar Association denied LMU accreditation last December. The school has re-applied.

UT fans react to 'Bama blowout, Dooley job status

The fate of Derek Dooley filled conversations around Neyland Stadium after Tennessee's 44-13 loss to top-ranked Alabama on Saturday night.

Fans pointed to the teams sub-par performance in the SEC under Dooley as part of the reason they believe Tennessee should make a change. Some even told 10News they believed a win against Alabama would not be enough to make them forget Dooley's overall record against ranked teams.

Before Alabama kicked off the game against Tennessee at Neyland Stadium, the University of Tennessee honored the 1997 SEC Championship football team.

Phillip Fulmer, Peyton Manning and the rest of that team received a standing ovation from fans in Neyland Stadium.

Alabama defeats Tennessee 44-13

No. 1 Alabama defeated Tennessee at Neyland Stadium 44-13 on Saturday night.

Tennessee has lost 11 of its last 12 SEC games against the Top 25 since Head Football Coach Derek Dooley took over the program in 2010. Tonight's win was Alabama's sixth consecutive victory over the Volunteers.

Amari Copper caught two of A.J. McCarron's four touchdown passes for Alabama. Cooper finished with seven receptions for 162 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a 42-yard score in the third. Cooper also had a 30-yard touchdown nullified by a penalty.

"Tailgate for the Cure" fundraiser honors TN cancer victim

Hours before kickoff, football tailgates for both UT and Alabama started popping up around campus. One group used their tent to raise money in honor of a young Vol fan.

"Tailgate for the Cure" started as a cancer fundraiser in 2007. It's organizers, a group of former UT roommates, became very familiar with the unforgiving disease after it took several close friends and family members.

Tailgating to fight against Alzheimer's

Vol fans tailgated to fight against Alzheimer's and raise awareness about the disease before Tennessee took on Alabama on Saturday.

Organizers put together the "Vols Tackle Alzheimer's Tailgate" at Circle Park during the afternoon before kickoff.

At the tailgate, volunteers handed out items like cozies, stickers and key chains in exchange for suggested donations.

Organizers said their goal was to raise awareness about the disease and money to fund Alzheimer's research.
