Duck Duck Goose consignment sale underway

The Duck Duck Goose fall-winter sale is underway in West Knoxville.

What started in a backyard with a few tents is now one of the largest consignment sales in the area.

Shoppers can browse gently used clothing and toys for their little ones. More than 20,000 shoppers are expected.

The event runs through Sunday at the Old Goody's Warehouse near West Town Mall.

Goodwill hosts vintage fashion show

Models hit the catwalk with vintage fashions at low prices Thursday to help put people to work.

Goodwill hosted its 28th annual Vintage Fashion Show and Sale at the Hilton-Knoxville.

The night included dinner, a fashion show, and a sale of vintage clothing pieces.

Finding all the different clothing and accessories for the event takes Goodwill staff several months.

Rickshaws offer new way to get you around downtown

Folks enjoying their weekend in Downtown Knoxville now have a new way to get around. Friday was the soft launch for a new rickshaw business.

A rickshaw, also called a pedicab, is a bike with one wheel in the front and two in the back designed to carry passengers.

Back in July, the city council voted to allow them to be used as a vehicle for hire.

The creator of Downtown Rickshaw says a visit from her parents made her think of the idea.

Urban Outfitters is one step closer to Arnstein

Knoxville is a step closer to bringing Urban Outfitters downtown.

Last month, developers announced the trendy retailer will be going into the Arnstein Building off Market Square.

Tuesday on second reading, council approved a $250,000 incentive to bring the retailer to the city.

The store is planning to open next spring.

Cumberland Ave. businesses gear up for football season

As the clocked ticked ever closer to kickoff Friday night, businesses along the Cumberland Avenue strip were buzzing.

"Pretty much anything can happen," said Travis Robertson, general manager of Tin Roof. "It's going to be busy no matter what you do, and there's ways to kind of subtly prepare, get everybody ready, but, I mean, you just have to come to work and kinda be ready for whatever."

Robertson said, on gamedays, around 350 customers flood his restaurant, all hoping to fill up on food and alcohol.
