The Salvation Army Looking for "Angels" to Sponsor Local Children

Hiking in the woods, making crafts, singing songs by the campfire − some of our fondest childhood memories come from summer camp. For the neediest children in the Knoxville area, these simple joys seem unattainable. These at-risk kids will spend their summer wandering the streets or hanging out with other idle kids – a recipe for trouble. However, The Salvation Army can help struggling local families avoid this outcome for their children.

Vols' financial woes may end academic reinvestment

The carousel of coaches at the University of Tennessee has taken a toll on the athletic department's bottom line.  With the firing of Derek Dooley this weekend, the search is on for a new football coach and new sources of money for the Vols.

One source of cash could already be in the athletic department's coffers.  Each year more than six million dollars of UT sports revenue is reinvested in the academic side of campus.  That annual donation could come to an end to help the athletic department to stabilize its financial foundation.

Vols face heavy SEC competition in coach search

The University of Tennessee is not the only college in the Southeastern Conference looking for a new head football coach.

Three SEC schools are looking, including Tennessee, and another university may join the list by the end of the season.

Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee have announced active searches for a head coach.

Sports experts predict Auburn will also fire their football coach.

Chris Low with espn.com does not believe UT will have a clear advantage in this search.
