The First Baptist Church of Knoxville gathered in the World's Fair Park for worship and prayer to kick off its three-day event "Seek the Peace of the City."

Its senior pastor Bill Shiel said he hopes this event will help Knoxville build a stronger community.

"'Seek the Peace of the City' is a catalytic event here in the heart of Downtown Knoxville, where we take people of good faith, match them with people of good will and send people out to do good deeds in our city," he said.

Cupcakes in the Park: A tasty experience

People enjoyed sweet treats for a good cause today at the Krutch Park extension in Downtown Knoxville.

At Knoxville's first cupcake festival "Cupcakes in the Park," people purchased five dollar tickets to eat cupcakes and vote for the best tasting treat.

All proceeds from this event went towards the "Kent C. Withers Family Crisis Center," which helps support and protect domestic violence victims and their children.

10News Erin Donovan was one of the cupcake judges at the event, along with some of East Tennessee's favorite bakeries.
